The Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) is Australia’s peak breastfeeding information and support service. Breastfeeding is a practical, learned skill and ABA helps more than 80,000 mothers each year. ABA also provides up-to-date information and continuing education for thousands of health professionals working with mothers and babies.
Through a range of services, ABA supports and encourages those who want to breastfeed or provide breastmilk for their babies, and advocates to raise community awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and human milk to child and maternal health. Services include membership for both individuals, health students and health professionals, a 24-hour National Breastfeeding Helpline, an informative website, local support groups, antenatal classes and numerous print and digital resources.
The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) is a not-for-profit organisation which confers a global certification in breastfeeding and lactation care to professionals working in the field. This is a voluntary certification where successful applicants are certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant® (IBCLC®). There are over 35,000 currently certified IBCLCs in over 125 countries who are promoting and protecting breastfeeding in their communities. IBLCE is governed by a voluntary board. The Asia Pacific and African office which serves Australia is based in Queensland. Email – firstname.lastname@example.org phone – +61 (7) 5529 8811.
Breastfeeding may be natural, but for some mums it can also mean sore, cracked and swollen nipples. Multi-Mam Compresses are made with a plant based 2QR complex to support the natural healing process, and provide soothing, instant comfort and relief to sore nipples.
